Educational Tours
We invite preschools, daycares, school age children, scouts, adult organizations, and corporate team builders to see first hand how apples are grown and about farm life. Learn how apples get from our beautiful apple orchard to the market.
We are pleased to welcome you to the 2007 Season at Stribling Orchard. In an attempt to keep things fresh and working well for those of you who visit, we are constantly trying to improve our tours. This year we will begin the tour by gathering for a short talk, approximately 20 minutes on growing apples from seed to market. Included in the talk is a brief history of apple growing in the area, history of our 200 year old farm, and how the apples are grown year round. The talk also covers the things trees need to grow apples (sun, water, good soil, pollination), the varieties of apples, and various other interesting facts about apple trees. Then we will send you out into the orchard to fill your bags and return for a snack or picnic per request. The animals are looking forward to all those hellos again this year. Most tours are allotted time for viewing animals. Parents and chaperones will have opportunities for some shopping. When scheduling a tour, please let us know how many chaperones/parents to expect and whether your group is arriving by bus or car. This helps us prepare better for your visit! Please look at Registration Form for any changes to prices. Please note that Cider is not available until mid September and Pumpkins until late September. Please contact us with any questions. Group leaders can download the Tour Registration Form below or can call to have a form sent. The form must be signed and received at least seven(7) days prior to the desired tour date. Note: Tours are only available Monday-Friday.
